WHY PIRESS?
✨ The name “Piress” was born on a girls’ weekend in San Francisco — a moment of laughter, honesty, and deep knowing. I confessed to a friend that I’ve never resonated with the word “Crone.” It feels harsh, craggy, and far from the vibrant, radiant women I know who are living their fullest lives at 50 and beyond.
So we created a new word, a new archetype: Piress.
A fusion of Priestess and Pirate — she is both sacred and wild, wise and untamed, devoted and daring. She is the woman rewriting the story of what it means to age with power, freedom, and soul.
These years are not a decline. They are a rebirth.
With children leaving the nest, and the great transformation of menopause opening new pathways, we are called back — back to our bodies, back to our power, back to our soul work.
It’s time to step into your Piress years — the most sacred, sovereign, and unapologetic chapter of your life!
My Approach to Grief Work
I believe grief is one of the most honest experiences of being human—and one of the least supported in our culture.
I’m a Certified Grief Coach trained in holistic, trauma-informed approaches that recognize grief as a whole-person experience. My work integrates nervous system awareness, somatic practices, reflective inquiry, ritual, and meaning-making—while staying firmly within an ethical, non-clinical scope of practice.
I do not pathologize grief.
I do not impose timelines, interpretations, or spiritual frameworks.
And I do not believe healing requires “letting go” of love.
Instead, I offer steady accompaniment—a place where grief can be witnessed, integrated, and carried differently over time.
When I was 20 years old, my mother died in a car accident. Her loss tore away the ground beneath me and sent me on a decades-long search for healing, meaning, and connection. I pursued a master’s degree and countless trainings in holistic healing but here’s what I didn’t have back then — a guide for how to move through grief, trauma, and disconnection while reconnecting to my body, my spirit, and the Divine Mother herself.
That’s why I created The Sacred Seven. The Sacred Seven is the core teaching I use for coaching clients ready to truly alchemize their grief into personal power!
What Guides My Work
My practice is shaped by contemporary grief research and models that understand grief as:
-
Nonlinear and potentially lifelong
-
Influenced by culture, identity, and relationship
-
Experienced differently across intuitive and instrumental styles
-
Interwoven with the body and nervous system
-
Often involving continuing bonds rather than detachment
I also hold a deep respect for spiritual and existential dimensions of grief—while remaining neutral, curious, and client-led in how meaning is explored.
My role is not to interpret your experience, but to hold space for the meaning you are making.
Ethical & Trauma-Informed Care
Grief can dysregulate the nervous system, especially when loss is sudden, ambiguous, layered, or compounded by earlier trauma. I work with pacing, consent, and regulation as central values.
I am clear about my scope as a grief coach. When grief becomes complicated by persistent functional impairment, suicidal ideation, or trauma responses that require clinical care, I prioritize transparency, referral, and ethical support—while honoring the dignity of your process.
Why This Work Matters to Me
Like many who are drawn to grief work, I do not come to this field untouched by loss. Loss has been an integral experience and training throughout my life. I believe our lived experiences can become sources of compassion and insight when they are consciously integrated—and sources of harm when they are not.
I am committed to ongoing self-reflection, supervision, and embodiment practices that support clear boundaries, grounded presence, and ethical care. This work asks humility. I take that seriously.
If You’re Here
You may be grieving a person, a relationship, a role, a future, or a version of yourself. You may feel untethered, searching, or quietly exhausted from holding it all together.
You don’t need to have the right words.
You don’t need to know what comes next.
You only need a place where your experience is met with respect.
